Tax Preparation
The following is an estimate. Actual costs may vary depending upon the complexity of your return.
We specialize exclusively in real estate tax. In other words, realtors, brokers, real estate investors and property managers make up over 90% of our practice. As of November 2019, we are unable to accept new clients for annual tax prep. Outside of tax season, w are happy to offer consultation services to non-clients. While we do not maintain a waiting list, we suggest you join our subscription list for Realtors and Investors. When we open our calendar to new clients, our email subscribers will be the first to know.
After closely examining our firm (level of service, specialized knowledge in real estate tax, increased liability from congressional acts, rising cost of expert training and equipment), we realized that we must increase our rates. Although the decision was difficult, it was reaffirmed when we carefully compared our rates to those of local, reputable accounting firms.
Final updates to our fee schedule will be published below by January 31st. However, I can share the following specifics:

The rates given above are fair estimations that depend on factors including:
- the scope of work,
- the condition of your records (completeness, organization, accuracy)
- and the complexity of your unique tax situation.
We will more accurately estimate our fee at your initial drop off interview. Further, when additional tax preparation is necessary, we will discuss additional fees with you before we prepare those additional schedules or forms.
*U.S. Corporate Tax Return (1120, 1120-S) & Partnership Tax Return (1060): Our minimum rate is based on a complete and reconciled Income Stmt & Balance Sheet. Our fee will increase if records are incomplete or if we must make corrections to your general ledger. We can more accurately estimate our fee at your initial drop off interview.

Common Questions:
-
What should I bring to my appointment?
If you are a new client, please make sure you bring the last tax return you filed. Also, check out our helpful checklists: Resources Tab. Our checklists will ensure you bring all relevant tax records to your appointment.
My return is simple. Can I just drop off my documents?
If you are an existing client, you can upload your tax records to your portal. If you are a new client, we’d like to meet you first and set you up in our secure portal. Give us a call or email us.
How much will my tax return cost?
The table above gives a reliable estimate of what you can expect your return to cost. Of course, we can provide a more exact estimation at your initial consultation. Rest assured, it is very important to us that you find our fee competitive and fair.
-
Approximately how long will it take you to prepare my taxes?
It depends, but we can closely estimate at your initial appointment. We do not herd clients in an out like cattle. We ask probing questions to ensure we account for every deduction your’re entitled to. Most returns take no more than a week as long as the client promptly responds to follow up questions.
What is your privacy policy?
We honor your absolute right to privacy. You can depend on our discretion.
What licenses or designations do you have?
On staff, we have a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) who is also a CFP (Certified Financial Planner). In addition, we have an accountant who is a CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) with additional certificates in forensic accounting. And finally, we have an IRS Enrolled Agent on staff. Also, we are QuickBooks experts.
